next plan using my drawing for a reference but aspects may change based on resources and new ideas. vax’illdan foam armour, belts, wings feathers the most challenging aspect of this outfit will be the articulate wings I intend to use a basic mechanism to allow the wings to open and close using faux feathers and thin foam to create the feathers, with the feathers to create the smaller details and the foam to create the larger, outermost feathers, however I will not make the same mistake of not sealing the paint on the foam as the paint can ware off very easily. the main challenge with this element will be making a mechanism that can support the wight of the feathers as well be durable enough to withstand wear and weather, in addition to this I don’t want the feathers to interfere with the mechanism The materials I will have to use will need to be lightweight but also strong, therefore I am considering, pvc, fibreglass and wood. fibreglass is the stranges...

comic con planning Birmingham comic con is a bi-yearly event in which many people attend to buy media related merchandise, meet new people and see cosplays. this gives a window of 4 or 8 months depending on weather the convention is in march or November, for this outfit was made for march convention giving me four months to prepare, plan and construct. patterns and measurements this piece is a recreation, therefore attention to detail is important as it will need to be as like the original as possible, as a result its essential to constantly compare, measure and adjust to make it way for the more specific elements, however a rough estimate will often work for sections that will not be receiving as much attention. for example, the sword was made as close to the reference image as possible to scale with my form, to achieve this I measured the length, with the total making 100%, then I compared how long the sword should be and rounded it to the nearest 10 for th...

Final major Introduction (idea proposition) All things medieval and magical are what inspire my works the most with heroes and mythical beasts taking the centre stage of my work. As a result of this I intend the base my work of the theme of fantasy, taking inspiration from its biggest influences such as the lord of the rings and cultures from across the globe. This inspiration stems from those around me and the media I involved myself with over the years. My mum and brother are also fans of fantasy and other fiction, my mum being more on the side of fairies, unicorns and tarot while my brother preferers more war based genres.
